North Wall, Yankton Stockade

Text on the marker reads: This 6 foot wall of sod and earth with a ditch in front was located about 150 Foot South of this marker. This wall 450 foot long was commenced on Sept. 1, 1862, the first construction.

Notes: Marker is in overall good condition and there is minor edge chipping but does not need repair or replacement.

Located in the grass sidewalk/curb in the First National Bank parking lot.
